Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties seeks an IT Assistant to provide technical support to staff, ensuring secure operations across the agency and assisting with hardware, software, and access. You will work under the Technology Manager, handling software like Microsoft Office, maintaining equipment inventory, and setting up workstations, while supporting security systems.

Part-time, 20 hours per week, on-site in Michigan; valid driver’s license preferred; prior help desk

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree in a related field, or currently working toward completion of a degree.
• Experience: Familiarity with networked systems and Microsoft products; previous IT help desk experience in a business or organizational setting.
• Licenses: Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software applications; valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service while performing agency technology duties
• Serve as a point of contact for IT work requests and troubleshooting
• Assist with the distribution of keys, creation of staff ID cards, and assignment of network access
• Support agency software systems, including Microsoft Office, Great Plains, and other databases
• Test and evaluate software applications and systems
• Construct, deploy, and maintain general computer applications and specialized utility programs
• Maintain agency computer and technology equipment inventory
• Set up and maintain workstations for employees, interns, and volunteers
• Manage technical security systems, including video surveillance, alarm system, building access, employee badge activation, and key assignments
• Troubleshoot and resolve LAN and other system issues
• Administer Office/Microsoft 365 and server/network environments
• Manage user accounts in Active Directory and ensure backups
