Job summary
Virginia Department of Veterans Services is seeking a part-time IT Engineer to provide essential IT support for Headquarters and DVS locations. You will handle end-user assistance, network support, and application troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations and service delivery.
The role requires strong IT service desk experience, network know-how, and the ability to document procedures and collaborate with the IT team.
Qualifications
- IT service desk triage and end-user support experience.
- Ability to resolve network and infrastructure issues.
- Experience configuring firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Provide application support for standard desktop applications.
- Install and troubleshoot wireless access points and extenders.
- Install voice and network cabling and IPsec.
- Experience with desktop, mobile hardware and VOIP systems.
- Monitor systems and network performance.
- Document changes, update procedures, and share troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with supervisors and stakeholders on goals and progress.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential IT support for HQ and DVS locations.
- Offer end-user assistance and ticketing system updates.
- Support network infrastructure and applications across sites.
- Coordinate IT projects with leadership and team members.
- Maintain clear communication and progress updates.
