Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY, seeks an IT A/V Services Technician to support instructional technology operations in labs and classrooms. The position is part-time, with responsibilities spanning software/licensing assistance, equipment inventory, and support for campus-wide events. Some after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Educational background: minimum of an Associate’s Degree.
• Experience with classroom technology and applications is desirable.
• Experience with presentation software and A/V equipment, and supporting and/or training instructors and staff, as well as creation of documentation, is also desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Instructional Technology Managers in maintaining functionality of instructional technology operations in labs and classrooms.
• Assist with identification and assessment of faculty software needs, development and testing of software installations, compatibility, and software loads.
• Assist in the planning, installation, and maintenance of instructional technology systems at all campus locations.
• Provide helpdesk coverage and direct user support to employees and students campus-wide.
• Provide user training and one-on-one consultation as needed.
• Participates in IT area’s support of special events and presentations including audio and visual technologies.
• Provide after-hours instructional services and special event support for FLCC sponsored events.
• Participates in deployment of new technologies including hardware and software upgrade projects.
• Assist with training, supervision and direction of student aides.
• Assist in the creation of IT user documentation.
• Assist in IT operations tasks including inventory, software licensing and purchasing, routine maintenance, and provisioning of supplies.
• Functions as an IT staff member assisting high priority Division operations as needed.
