Job summary

Tulsa Tech seeks a part-time Instructor for Radiologic Technology to educate and train students, helping them gain skills for workplace entry or further education, aligned with district values.

Responsibilities include managing classrooms, delivering competency-based instruction, assessing progress, maintaining records, and fostering industry partnerships to support student placement.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least two years radiography experience in a clinical environment.
  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
  • Current ARRT certification and registration in Radiography.
  • CPR and BLS certifications through American Heart Association (may be obtained after hire).
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Moderate computer proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Immunization vaccines/tests per CDC for Healthcare Workers.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment with appropriate discipline.
  • Instruct students using competency-based curricula via classroom, self-paced, Blackboard, labs, and clinicals.
  • Evaluate students regularly to indicate progress toward competencies and required knowledge.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of academic progress and handle paperwork for operations.
  • Develop and maintain community/business contacts and promote industry-advisor collaboration.
  • Participate in campus or program projects and school events as assigned.
  • Continue to develop professional expertise through conferences, training, and associations.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by supervisor and comply with policies and requirements.
  • Exercise discretion and provide consultation to management as needed; represent the department professionally.

Part-time Instructor, Radiologic Technology

Position Description:

Educate and train students in Radiologic Technology, to gain skills, knowledge and behaviors and support their successful entry into the workplace or higher education, in a manner that supports the program within industry and the community and is consistent with District Core Values.

Essential Job Functions
  1. 1. Effectively manage the classroom to create optimal learning environment, maintaining an appropriate
    balance of classroom discipline.
  2. 2. Instruct students in competency-based developmental program curriculum using current instructional
    strategies appropriate to subject matter (i.e., classroom, self-paced, Blackboard interactive website,
    lab, clinicals, etc.) to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
  3. 3. Evaluate students on a recurrent basis to provide timely indications of student’s progress toward
    competencies and knowledge required for successful completion of program.
  4. 4. Maintain up-to-date records of academic progress as required by District policy and certification
    agencies. Process, maintain and/or monitor paperwork required for District operations (inventory
    purchasing, follow-up data, etc.)
  5. 5. Develop and maintain community/business contacts and participate with industry advisory committee
    to promote interaction among students and practitioners, assure the program curriculum remains a
    current reflection of job market skill requirements and to facilitate placement of students.
  6. 6. Participate in projects/assignments in support of the campus or program, as assigned, which might
    include activities such as: assistance with CTSO activities/competitions, attendance at school events,
    etc.
  7. 7. Continue to develop professional expertise in educational methodology and learning strategies as well
    as in industry-specific topics through attendance/ participation at conferences, professional
    development training, professional associations, and industry events.
  8. 8. Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervisor and
    determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure,
    regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.
  9. 9. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions regarding the provision of services
    to internal and external customers and in day-to-day operations of the department. Interpret and
    implement policies in a manner consistent with the interests of the District. Provide advice and
    consultation to executive management as requested. Investigate and resolve issues, as needed,
    represent the department and District in a professional manner to all.
Job Requirements
  • Must have at least two years radiography experience in a clinical environment, preferably in different
    modalities.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited radiography program.
  • Must have current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification and registration in
    Radiography.
  • Current CPR certification & Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider; both certifications must be
    obtained through American Heart Association. Certifications may be obtained after hire.
  • Valid state issued driver’s license
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Moderate computer proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint applications.
  • Verification of immunization vaccines and tests recommended by Center for Disease Control for
    Healthcare Workers.
Education

Associate degree required; Bachelors degree preferred.

Standard rate schedule for non-regular (temporary, adjunct, substitute) and regular part-time employees
