Job summary

Cleveland Area Hospital, a self-managed Critical Access Hospital west of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is seeking a Radiology Technician to perform diagnostic X-ray procedures and assist physicians with imaging studies.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, equipment adjustment, radiation safety, and collaboration across departments to deliver timely imaging for inpatients, outpatients and emergencies. ARRT certification and 2+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification required or board eligible with enrollment to obtain certification within three months of hire.
  • Min 2+ years Radiology Tech experience preferred.
  • Experience and/or certification in multiple modalities is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to organizational policies and HIPAA requirements.
  • Engage with communications and directives of the organization.
  • Perform Radiology exams on Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency Department patients across age groups.
  • Ensure radiation protection of patients and staff; document accurately hits in EMR and charges posted.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and teamwork while working independently or with the team.
  • Read physician orders and determine appropriateness of exams; communicate with providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with scheduling, ER, Nursing, Labs, Pharmacy, Billing, and Administration; multi-task with attention to detail.

CLEVELAND AREA HOSPITAL is an independent, self-managed Critical Access Hospital half an hour west of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Position Summary

Performs various types of diagnostic X-ray procedures, adjusts x-ray equipment settings, determines proper voltage and exposure and positions patient. Performs specific procedures utilizing ionizing radiation. Assists physicians in assigned examinations utilizing contrast media and/or specific tomographic examinations.

Principal Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all policies of the organization, including (but not limited to) job description, certification/licensure requirements, mission statement, HIPAA, confidentiality standards and patient’s rights.
  • Actively engage and stay up to date with organization’s communications and directives.
  • Will be responsible for performing Radiology exams on Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency Department patients ranging from newborn to geriatric.
  • Responsible for radiation protection of self, patients and other team members, placing orders and ensure correct documentation hits the EMR, and that the correct charges post.
  • Must exhibit a high level of professionalism, and be a team player with strong people skills working independently while also as a member of the team.
  • Will read and distinguish physician orders and must be able to determine the appropriateness of the ordered exams. This will mean being able to articulate to providers and other team member’s questions or concerns with ordered exams or procedures.
  • Must work closely with scheduling, access, dietary, ER, Nursing, maintenance, housekeeping, Physical Therapy, Purchasing, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Billing, HIM and Administration, and be able to multi task and have a very keen attention to details.

Requirements
Educational/Skills Required

Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or board eligible. If board eligible you must obtain within three months of hire date.

Experience

Prefer 2+ years of Radiology Tech experience required. Also prefer experience and/or certification in multiple modalities.

Responsibility For Confidential Information

This position could have access to patient confidential records and must comply with HIPAA regulations as well as CAH Compliance Policies.

Working Conditions

Must be able to work inside, travel outside, lift patients and equipment of various sizes and weights.
