Job summary

Jefferson Elementary School in Mesa, Arizona is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Title I, for a part-time role to support the classroom teacher and interventionist with students who are academically disadvantaged in Reading, Writing, and Math. Requirements include an Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours or passing the ParaPro Test; bilingual English/Spanish may be preferred.

The position operates on the A11 calendar (9.25 months) with a base hourly rate of $16.56 and performance pay

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire or pass the ParaPro Test.
• Experience supporting students in reading, writing, and math is implied by responsibilities.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) may be preferred at some sites.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the assigned teacher and specific students.
• Assist students individually or in groups to reinforce skills.
• Follow a written plan to supplement classroom instruction.
• Assist with classroom computer instruction.
• Assist with translation when necessary.
• Participate in professional development to support student achievement.
• Participate in school improvement initiatives.
• Complete training to assist in assessments and scoring.
• Maintain regular and on-time attendance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
