Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant Title I & Non-Instructional Assistant to support teachers and students in Reading, Writing, and Math at Longfellow Elementary in Mesa, AZ. This part-time position (29 hours per week) requires an Associate’s degree or 60 college credits or passing the ParaPro Test, with opportunities for annual performance pay; base hourly wage $16.56.

Work closely with staff, adapt to varied classroom settings, and participate in professional development

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge

Responsibilities

• Work in close proximity with assigned teacher and students
• Assist students individually or in groups to reinforce skills
• Follow written plans to supplement classroom instruction
• Assist with classroom computer instruction
• Assist with translation when necessary
• Participate in professional development to support student achievement
• Attend as a stakeholder in school improvement initiatives
• Assist in administration and scoring of assessments
• Maintain regular and on-time attendance
• Perform related duties to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit
• Assist with other assigned duties for Mesa Public Schools
