Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is seeking a Solar and Storage Sales Representative in Wheeling, IL to drive residential solar and battery storage sales and deliver customized proposals.

You will conduct on-site assessments, educate homeowners on financial and environmental benefits, and guide clients through the purchasing process, collaborating with engineering and permitting teams to ensure smooth handoffs from sale to installation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven experience in residential solar sales, energy storage, or renewable energy solutions.
• Knowledge of solar PV systems and battery storage technologies.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Willingness to travel for client appointments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Studies, or related field (preferred).
• Proficient with CRM platforms and sales proposal tools.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• In-depth knowledge of solar PV systems, battery storage technologies (e.g., Tesla Powerwall, Enphase, Generac PWRcell), and industry trends
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and closing skills
• Comfortable conducting in-home consultations and site assessments
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
• Proficient with CRM platforms and sales proposal tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Studies, or related field (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for client appointments

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with local utility rebate programs, net metering, and solar incentives
• Familiarity with sales platforms such as Aurora, Solo, or Sighten
• NABCEP certification or equivalent industry training a plus
