Job summary

The City of New York is seeking a Part-Time Staff Analyst I in the Civil Service title to provide full HR support, data analysis, and program implementation. Responsibilities include onboarding, hiring pools, and maintaining records in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates will have a relevant degree or combination of education and experience and will work within the Human Resources Division to improve efficiency and provide comprehensive HR services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree plus two years professional experience in HR, budgeting, or related areas.
• Associate degree plus four years experience in HR/finance/administration.
• High school diploma plus six years experience in HR/administration.
• Combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct hiring pools and new hire orientations.
• Facilitate onboarding of new hires; provide information, collect HR paperwork, liaise with Investigations Unit, coordinate start dates.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
• Collect and analyze data using quantitative analysis and other research techniques.
• Prepare reports with findings and recommendations for efficiency.
• Screen and evaluate new hire qualifications to meet title requirements.
• Follow up with employees, managers, and agencies to resolve hiring issues.
• Maintain departmental records and update related documents.
• Prepare letters, memos, and other documents.
• Answer calls, route messages, and greet visitors.
• Act as backup for staff and assist HR/admin functions.
• Perform other related duties.
