Job summary

The City of New York is seeking a Human Resources Data Analysis Fellow in Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid). This role focuses on applying data analytics to HR programs, building dashboards, and producing regular reports for leadership.

The position supports internship and fellowship programs with a heavy emphasis on data quality and visualization. Key duties include collecting and cleaning data, conducting quantitative analyses, and delivering insights to inform HR and tech engagement strategies.

Qualifications

• Major: Business Administration/Management, Accounting, Managerial Economics, or related fields.
• Associate degree from a CUNY school within the last 18 months in one of the above fields.
• Organized and able to manage deliverables, meeting notes, spreadsheets, and documentation.
• Team players who support colleagues; self-motivated with a learning mindset.
• Strong interest in public service; proficient with Excel or Google Sheets pivots and formulas.

Responsibilities

• Apply data analytics to HR and technology pipeline programs.
• Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and recurring reports.
• Collect, clean, validate, and manage data across internship and fellowship programs.
• Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for program and leadership needs.
• Conduct quantitative analysis to identify trends and inform program strategy.
• Track key program metrics such as participation, engagement, and outcomes.
• Design, distribute, and analyze surveys to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain program tracking tools and data trackers.
• Support data visualization and presentation of findings in reports and summaries.
• Maintain tracking systems for timelines, resources, budgets, and deliverables.
• Support project coordination including meetings, notes, and action items.
