Job summary

The City of New York's NYC Department of Environmental Protection seeks a part-time Community Associate to serve as a Civil Service HR Generalist, handling onboarding, records, and confidential personnel information while maintaining daily administrative operations.

This 21-hours-per-week role emphasizes courteous service to candidates and staff, onboarding in NYCAPS, and coordination with the Onboarding and Processing Services Team.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
• Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and clerical support to the Onboarding and Processing Services Team.
• Prepare all New Hires for Mange Hire and onboarding in NYCAPS.
• Maintain electronic records and physical files related to Onboarding and Processing Services.
• Provide courteous, respectful, and professional customer service to candidates, new hires, employees, hiring managers, stakeholders, DEP colleagues, supervisors, and executive leadership.
• Exercise sound judgment and discretion with the handling of all confidential personnel information, this includes verbal, written, email, and Agency systems that contain confidential information.
• Assist the Civil Service Supervisor with administrative coordination, documentation, and other operational needs as needed.
