Job summary

Amedisys, Inc. is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to deliver therapy services in home health settings on days with supervision from a PT. The role emphasizes hands-on care, documentation, and coordination within the patient’s care team.

You will monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and contribute to quality improvement while maintaining patient confidentiality and promoting wellness and prevention at home.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant (state-specific).
• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant program per CAPTE.
• One year PTA experience in home health favored; less than one year requires regional leadership approval and mentoring.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under supervision of a PT and per approved plan of care.
• Observe and report patient responses and changes in condition to supervising PT and clinicians.
• Provide resources for future needs and promote wellness and prevention.
• Document supervisory activities in patient records.
• Monitor patient responses to interventions.
• Participate in care conferences, in-services, chart audits, and quality-improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient-therapist information.
• Make follow-up care recommendations and coordinate with admitting agency and other providers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
