Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant to provide PT services in home health settings. You will work under a PT, following a physician-approved plan and documenting patient progress, while coordinating with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes at patients’ homes.

Requirements include a CAPTE-accredited PTA program, current state PTA licensure, CPR certification, and 1 year of PTA experience (less with mentoring). This is a part-time role with flexible days.

Qualifications

• Must hold current PTA license in assigned state.
• Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Minimum 1 year PTA experience; or approval with mentoring for less than 1 year.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under the supervision of a PT and plan of care.
• Observes and reports patient responses and changes to the supervising PT and team.
• Promotes wellness and prevention; documents care in medical records.
• Monitors patient progress and documents responses to therapy.
• Participates in conferences, in-services, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and coordinates follow-up care.
