Job summary

Amedisys seeks a Part-Time Physical Therapy Assistant to provide high-quality care in patients’ homes under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. You will implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and help coordinate follow-up care within the home health setting.

Responsibilities include reporting patient responses, documenting in medical records, and promoting wellness and prevention while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a PTA in the assigned state.
• Graduation from CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• One year PTA experience; approval from regional clinical leaders may be required if less while also having CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed PT per care plan.
• Observe, record and report patient responses to treatment and any changes to the supervising PT.
• Assist with wellness promotion and patient education.
• Document supervisory activities in the patient’s medical record.
• Monitor and document patient responses to therapy interventions.
• Participate in care conferences and quality improvement activities.
