Job summary

Amedisys, a leading home health and hospice provider in the United States, is seeking a Part Time Days Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver compassionate care in the patient’s home environment. Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant (state licensure).
• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant educational program (CAPTE).
• One year related physical therapy experience for PTAs entering home health care.
• If less than one year of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders is required with mentoring/residency involvement.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist and per physician-approved plan of care.
• Observes and documents patient response to treatment and reports changes to supervising PT and clinical staff.
• Promotes wellness, prevention, and resources for future needs; documents supervisory activities in the medical record.
• Participates in care conferences, in-services, chart audits, quality improvement activities, and peer-review.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and coordinates follow-up care with appropriate agencies.
