Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant to provide PT services under a supervising Physical Therapist in the home health setting in the Abingdon area.

Responsibilities include assessing patient responses, documenting progress, and coordinating care with clinical staff. The role emphasizes confidentiality, documentation, and ongoing quality improvement while supporting patient wellness at home.

Qualifications

• Current PTA license for the state of practice.
• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• At least 1 year of related PTA experience for home health; mentoring if less.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under supervision and plan of care.
• Record patient responses and report changes to the supervising PT and clinicians.
• Document supervisory activities and patient progress in medical records.
• Coordinate follow-up care with the admitting agency and referrals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and participate in quality improvement activities.
