Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a physical therapy assistant to join our home health team in the Americus area. This part-time role supports the patient care plan under supervision of a licensed PT and focuses on home-based rehabilitation.

You will perform interventions, document progress, and participate in care conferences, helping patients maintain independence. The base pay is per visit with additional benefits available, including PTO, 401(k) match and telehealth options.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate from an CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• One year related physical therapy experience in home health preferred; if less, regional mentoring/residency required.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services and interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist and per the approved plan of care.
• Observes and reports the patient response to treatment and any changes to supervising staff.
• Documents supervisory activities in the patient’s medical record.
• Monitors patient response to physical therapy intervention.
• Participates in care conferences, in-services, chart audits, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations in coordination with the admitting agency and community resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
