Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a part-time Histology Technologist to join the lab team in Texas. Under supervision, you prepare surgical, biopsy, and autopsy specimens, perform embedding, microtomy, H&E and special stains, and maintain QC records.

You will handle immunohistochemistry, stains, reagents, and routine maintenance while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and familiarity with CAP/JCAHO standards are essential.

Formación

• HT ASCP registration preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent with additional training.
• Associate degree in chemical/biological science or medical laboratory technology or equivalent training.
• Experience with histology processes, staining, QC and regulatory standards.

Responsabilidades

• Embeds surgical, biopsy and autopsy specimens with proper orientation.
• Performs microtomy and produces high quality sections.
• Conducts H&E staining and routine special stains with controls.
• Uses the computer system to move workload and track blocks.
• Performs immunohistochemistry and other non-routine stains.
• Maintains stains, reagents and basic equipment maintenance.
• Keeps QC logs, documents corrective actions, and ensures safety.
• Maintains a clean, hygienic workspace and complies with policies.
