Job summary

Illinois CancerCare in Peru is seeking a Scheduler to join our team. This 32-hour-per-week role schedules follow-up visits, lab tests, imaging, and treatments, coordinates with outside facilities, and supports billing and patient communication.

You’ll work closely with providers, patients, and clinical teams to ensure appointments are accurate and timely, aligned with each patient’s care plan, while maintaining HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule follow-up visits, lab tests, imaging, and treatments for patients.
• Communicate appointment details and test instructions clearly to patients.
• Collect co-pays, verify insurance codes, and enter billing information into the EMR.
• Manage provider schedules and update consult, vacation, and on-call calendars.
• Travel to satellite clinics as required.
