Job summary

Illinois CancerCare in Peoria, IL is seeking a highly organized Treatment Room Scheduler to coordinate care by scheduling follow-up appointments, scans, and treatments, and by supporting billing and patient communication.

You will work closely with providers, patients, and clinical teams to ensure accurate, timely scheduling within each patient\'s care plan, including satellite clinics, while maintaining HIPAA-compliant, patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and multitasking skills.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule follow-up visits, labs, imaging, and treatments for patients.
• Communicate appointment details and test instructions clearly to patients.
• Collect co-pays, verify insurance codes, and enter billing information into the EMR.
• Manage provider schedules and update calendars for consultations, vacations, and on-call duties.
• Reschedule missed appointments and confirm updates with patients.
• Monitor referrals and long-term follow-up needs; respond to patient messages promptly.
• Provide cross-coverage for front desk or MOA roles as needed.
