Job summary

Kingston Resorts in Myrtle Beach is seeking a friendly Guest Services Agent to greet guests, check them in/out, and ensure an outstanding stay. You will handle reservations, answer phones, and communicate guest needs to the right departments. The role requires a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, and operates at Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach.

Previous hospitality experience is helpful, and a positive, guest-focused attitude is essential for success in this part-time position.

Qualifications

• Greet and register guests at check-in and assist with check-out.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel operations, policies and standards.
• Answer calls with proper etiquette and friendly assistance.
• Manage guest requests and resolve complaints to ensure satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of daily activities, room products and hotel services.
• Answer telephone calls within 3 rings and use correct salutations.
• Describe room accommodations and all amenities to guests.
• Record guest preferences and special requests in the system.
• Communicate guest information to relevant departments and colleagues.
• Present folio to guest and address any disputed charges.
• Support other departments with information about groups, inventory and guest data.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

The Kingston Resorts is a 145-acre oceanfront resort on the north-end of Myrtle Beach. Less than 2 miles from Tanger Outlets and a short 20 minute trip to Broadway at the Beach. This resort is home to the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort, Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach, Kingston Plantation Condos, and Royale Palms Condos. As a Guest Services Agent, you would be responsible for greeting and registering guests and checking guests out of the hotel in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of hotel operations, scheduled daily activities, and room products.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Answer telephone calls within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
• Ascertain callers' needs through open-ended questions.
• Describe room accommodations and all amenities.
• Accommodate special requests and designate such in the system following the hotel's standard operating procedures.
• Access guest history records to best service guests; maintain accurate information in guest history files.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies. Always keep the bank secure.
• Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments/personnel (i.e. special requests, amenity delivery).
• Present folio to guest and resolve any disputed charges.
• Assist all departments/executives in obtaining appropriate information regarding groups, inventory, and guest information.
• Perform additional duties, as assigned.
