Job summary

LB&B Associates Inc. is seeking a part-time General Maintenance Worker to provide operation and mechanical maintenance at a federal building in Huron, South Dakota. The 20-hour work week runs Monday through Friday with flexible scheduling between 6:00am and 5:00pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in HVAC repair/maintenance is a plus.
• Follow GSA/OSHA safety requirements and lockout/tagout practices.

Responsibilities

• Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings with plaster or compound.
• Repair sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• Paint floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Hanging doors and installing locks.
• Perform basic carpentry: door adjustments, hinges, locks, and ceiling tiles.
• Perform basic electrical work: replace bulbs, ballasts, switches, outlets, fixtures not involving energized panels.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs: clear drains, replace faucet parts, traps, gaskets, valves.
• HVAC support: filter changes, belt replacements, cleaning coils, minor adjustments.
• Maintain lighting systems and inspect fixtures.
• Assist licensed trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) as required.
• Respond to routine work orders and general building issues.
