Job summary

South Dakota State University is seeking a part-time Senior Building Maintenance Worker in the University Housing department. The role covers mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance for Housing and Residential Life buildings and the University Student Union/food service, with backup for the Wellness Center.

Candidates should be self-motivated, customer-service oriented, and detail-focused. Valid driver’s license required; weekend/holiday work may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of carpentry, basic plumbing, HVAC systems, basic electrical, paints and coatings.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Operate various power and hand tools safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled maintenance for Housing and Residential Life buildings and University Student Union/food service.
• Back up support for the Wellness Center.
