This is a full-time, 40 hours weekly, position with the Department of the Military.
This Vacancy falls under the Construction and Facilities Management office, Operation and Maintenance Branch within the South Dakota Army National Guard/South Dakota Dept. Of the Military. This Position is the Senior Building Maintenance Worker for the Mitchell Armory, Parkston Armory and Chamberlain FMS#6 with the home station placement in Mitchell, SD. The Selected individual will be engaged in all forms of facility maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and preventive maintenance, janitorial, grounds maintenance, snow removal and a wide variety of other maintenance related tasks.
This position within the maintenance field will require experience with all areas of facilities maintenance, interacting with customers, scheduling and completing maintenance projects, reports and records with the contractors and vendors all while ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures. This position will be required to achieve and maintain a very high level of specific technical expertise regarding theory of operations with HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing and customer service. This position will require troubleshooting of electrical, and mechanical systems and the use of diagnostic meters, tracking of critical outages and work orders.
Work schedule is typically 10 hour workdays, Tuesday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work schedule may vary due to emergency situations or snow removal.
The individual selected will undergo a National Security Check to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) for access to the Federal Computer System.
