Job summary

Allied Universal in Weehawken, NJ is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced to join our front desk team at a commercial real estate site. This role offers flexibility, reliable fixed shifts, and the option to pick up additional hours via our scheduling platform to boost earnings.

Pay rate is $19.45 per hour. The position supports part-time schedules with a six-month anchor commitment, and opportunities to scale toward a full-time schedule by taking extra shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and employees at a commercial real estate front desk by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor visitor entry, verify identification and/or appointment information, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access and visitor records in accordance with site policies.
• Receive and direct guests, vendors, deliveries, and service personnel while maintaining a professional, courteous, and welcoming front‑desk presence.
• Monitor lobby activity, access points, alarms, and security‑related communications; report unusual conditions or concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established procedures and contacting emergency services or site contacts as needed.
