Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer at a Fairfax, VA office. You will be the welcoming presence at the front desk, supporting access control, visitor management, and clear communication with employees and guests.

You will work part-time with a flexible schedule and opportunities to explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. The position offers competitive pay and opportunities for growth within a national security leader.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Manage front-desk access by greeting visitors, verifying identification and appointments, issuing visitor credentials, and directing guests according to site procedures.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and security-related systems from a stationary front-desk post; report unusual activity or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying Allied Universal leadership and/or emergency services as appropriate.
