Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer at a commercial real estate location in Charlotte, NC. You will greet visitors, control access, and monitor security systems from the front desk, delivering outstanding service while maintaining safety.

The role supports building operations, requires at least one year of security experience, and offers flexible day schedules with competitive pay. A background check is required and licensing may be needed.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and employees at a commercial real estate location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Operate the front desk by greeting and directing visitors, managing visitor registration, issuing temporary access credentials, and maintaining accurate entry records.
• Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems from the front desk, reporting unusual activity or system concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
• Support daily building operations by answering phones, receiving deliveries, maintaining front-desk documentation, and communicating professionally with site management and Allied Universal leadership.
