Position Summary

Work involves preparing and serving food and cleaning food service areas. Employees work under direct supervision, follow written and/or oral procedures and practices. The employee will implement these procedures, methods, and activities developed by others.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve food at the dining hall; set up buffet lines and serve individual plates; interact with customers from young children to senior citizens.
• Clean and sanitize the work area, operate a commercial dishwasher; clean chairs, tables, and service lines; sweep and mop floors; clean windows, baseboards, blinds; walkways and walls of the food service building.
• Assist cooks in preparing and cooking food; assist with preparation of menu items.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

• Some experience in kitchen work.
• Skilled in reading, writing, and simple math.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.

Physical Demands

• Lift food items, up to 25 pounds.
• Prolonged standing for food preparation.
• Driving as needed to perform job duties.
