Job summary

Moraine Valley Community College is hiring a Financial Aid Assistant (part-time) at the Main Campus. The role supports the Financial Aid Department by handling student inquiries about federal/state grants, loans, veteran benefits, scholarships, work-study, and third-party billing, while maintaining paperwork and assisting with reporting.

Under supervision, you will answer calls, schedule appointments, and helpprocess documents.

Qualifications

Must possess excellent oral communication skills with the ability to handle diverse situations to avoid confusion and obtain cooperation.
Ability to work both independently and as a team with little supervision; exercise good judgment.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Screen student needs for calls or in-person visits to the Financial Aid Department and schedule appointments as needed.
Explain financial aid application processes and awards available to students.
Prepare copies of appeals with transcripts for committee review.
Generate letters to students indicating committee decisions and update Excel logs.
