Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time Survey Administrators for a school-based YRBS study. The role involves traveling to selected locations, administering surveys to students in classrooms, coordinating with school staff, and ensuring data collection is completed efficiently.

The position offers about 20 hours weekly during the data collection period from November 2026 through June 2027, with an hourly pay of $20 and reimbursement for travel time and mileage.

Qualifications

• Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Able to successfully complete training.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable personal automobile available for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop, and other associated equipment.
• Access to password protected WiFI connection for data transmission and administrative responsibilities.
• Able to keep project information confidential.
• Willingness to work in various types of weather conditions and after dark.
• Ability and willingness to drive up to three hours from home to assigned sampled schools.
• Ability and willingness to drive more than three hours from home to assigned sampled schools requiring an overnight stay.
• Ability to uphold project-specific standard operating procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to work early morning weekday hours when survey dates take place.

Responsibilities

• Traveling frequently to selected locations to administer survey or assessments to study participants.
• Making in-person contact with selected respondents to discuss the study, answer questions, and obtain participation and/or assessments.
• Prompting school staff by email and phone for missing data collection information.
• Hosting meetings with school staff to assess preparedness of scheduled survey dates, ensuring survey day logistics are completed.
• Communicating with school staff to track parental consent returns and student eligibility to ensure only students allowed to participate, participate on the scheduled survey date.
• Independently managing administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainings.
• Assuming full and legal responsibility for use and care of project issued equipment.
• Safeguarding any issued equipment or project materials against damage, loss, or theft.
• Submitting timely and accurate Time and Expense reports.
• Attending virtually scheduled meetings with other members of the project team.
• This position involves standing, walking and climbing stairs, and transporting equipment and materials such as laptop computers and notebooks weighing 15 pounds or more.
