Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech to join the Evanston Hospital team on a part-time schedule (32 hours per week) with hours from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday–Friday with rotating weekends.

The role involves assisting RNs to deliver patient care, performing vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and preparing patients for discharge, while upholding safety and high-quality care. CNA training or nursing clinical rotation is preferred; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
