Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under physician supervision at Good Samaritan Hospital. This role is designed for recent graduates or those new to the field, with part-time status and 10-hour shifts, including on-call duties.

You will schedule exams, coordinate with staff, educate patients, document results, and mentor students while contributing to quality improvement.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department-specific ultrasound protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physicians, other caregivers, and patients.
• Prepare for exam by identifying patient, educating on procedure, and transporting patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams per protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while achieving quality outcomes.
• Identify patient needs during exams and coordinate care with doctors, staff, patient, and family.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability and safety after exam.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and techniques.
• Document exam results and essential information.
• Apply charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment, work area, and stock supplies.
• Coordinate repairs or supply needs through proper channels.
• Support team and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to grow clinical competence.
• Provide education for other caregivers, fellows, and students.
