Job summary

Harry Meyering Center, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to help individuals live fuller, more independent lives. You will provide care at home and in the community, build relationships, and gain hands-on experience with a flexible schedule.

Wage is $18.00 per hour for part-time employees, with opportunities to learn, grow, and participate in meaningful activities while supporting daily living routines and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to learn and strong interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Valid United States driver’s license and driving record check.
• Must pass the Minnesota DHS Background Study.
• Experience or training in CNA/PCA/Caregiver/DSP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized care to clients.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting, feeding, and dressing.
• Engage clients in community activities (e.g., bowling, shopping, movies, exercise).
• Complete household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance in all communications.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Job Purpose

As a Part-Time Direct Support Professional, you help people live fuller, more independent lives. You’ll provide support at home and in the community while building meaningful relationships and gaining valuable career experience. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact while working a flexible part-time schedule.

Wage

$18.00 per hour for part-time employees.

Schedule

Work between 8 to 29 hours a week, including at least every other Saturday and Sunday. Shifts may include 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 3:00 PM–10:00 PM, 12:00 PM–4:00 PM, or 4:00 PM–8:00 PM, with fill‑in and holidays.

Location

Multiple locations in North Mankato, Mankato, and Eagle Lake.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years with a high school diploma or GED.

• Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
• Valid United States driver’s license and must pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier, unless otherwise noted.
• Must pass the Minnesota Department of Human Services Background Study.
• Prior experience or training is preferred but not required; experience as a CNA, PCA, Caregiver, DSP, or other health‑care related professional is a plus.
