Job summary

Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional to assist adults with disabilities in a Residential Program. The role includes person-centered support, training, meal preparation, and guided activities in a small home setting.

You'll receive in‑depth training, learn to use Therap and a Chromebook for progress tracking, and may participate in certifications like Basic Life Support and MedTech. Evening shifts support a 12–25 hour work week.

Qualifications

• SC Driver's License is required.
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Be adaptable, a team player and advocate for others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with self-help skills and personal hygiene.
• Implement training programs, encourage independence and community engagement.
• Prepare light meals per designated meal plan and follow behavior plans.
• Drive Burton Center vehicles and operate wheelchair lifts safely.
• Use Therap to track objectives and complete progress reports.
