Job summary

Burton Center For Disabilities & Special Needs in Ware Shoals, SC, seeks a Direct Support Professional for a 32-hour/week, second-shift role in our Community Training Home program. You will support up to four adults with disabilities, delivering person-centered coaching, training, and daily care to promote independence.

Thorough on-the-job training is provided; you will use a Chromebook with Therap to track objectives and progress, and may drive Burton Center vehicles as needed.

Qualifications

• SC Driver's License required.
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Mandatory in-person orientation and online trainings prior to on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to up to four adults with disabilities in a Community Training Home (CTH).
• Implement person-centered training programs and encourage independence and community engagement.
• Assist with daily living activities including self-care, meals, and mobility as needed.
• Document progress using Therap on a Chromebook and participate in reports.
