Job summary

Alternatives, Inc. in Ringoes, NJ is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to help adults with developmental disabilities live as independently as possible.

You will assist with daily living activities, medication administration, meals, personal hygiene, and transportation to appointments. You will also implement individual behavioral plans, teach new skills, and support community outings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening.
• Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with activities of daily living, including medication administration, cooking meals, personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments.
• Implement individual behavioral plans and teach new skills to residents.
• Encourage community outings and recreational activities while supporting client independence.
• Report health and safety concerns and maintain accurate documentation.
