Alternatives, Inc. in Hillsborough, NJ is looking to hire a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to assist adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

You will help with daily living activities, medication administration, meal prep, and transportation to appointments. We offer paid training, annual raises, mileage reimbursement, staff appreciation events, and eligibility for a federal student loan forgiveness program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening.
• Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including medication administration, cooking meals, personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments.
• Support implementation of individual behavioral plans and teach new skills.
• Encourage engagement in community outings and recreational activities.
• Report concerns about health and safety and maintain accurate documentation.
• Contribute to ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and independence.
