Job summary

Downtown Women’s Center seeks a Part‑Time Coordinator to support the Day Center, located in Skid Row, Los Angeles. You will manage daily operations, sign‑ups for services, data tracking, and enrichment activities to engage 200+ participants daily.

This role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming environment, coordinating volunteers, and collaborating with the Health & Wellness Department. Shifts are 7:00am–3:30pm, 25–29 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Experience providing services to homeless or high-risk populations
• Ability to balance direct service with record keeping
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
• Knowledge of confidentiality and mandated reporting requirements
• Fluency in English; Spanish a plus
• Comfort with data entry and tracking

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily Day Center operations and opening/closing procedures
• Provide direct services to 200+ participants daily; manage sign-ups for showers, case management, laundry
• Distribute resources and refer participants to internal/external services
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment; respond to requests and address issues
• Oversee enrichment activities and train volunteers and interns
• Support Day Center with data tracking and sign-ups; assist with meal distribution
• Ensure compliance with laws around confidentiality and reporting
• Assist with outreach to develop new resources
