Job summary

Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles seeks a Day Center Coordinator (On-Call) to support daily operations, oversee opening and closing, and coordinate enrichment activities for 200+ participants.

You will supervise volunteers and interns, manage sign-ups for showers, assist with referrals, hygiene products, clothing and food, and help maintain a safe, welcoming indoor and outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating daily Day Center operations.
• Ability to work with 200+ participants daily and coordinate services.
• Strong collaboration with staff, interns, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Help coordinate daily Day Center operations, including opening and closing procedures and enrichment activities
• Provide direct services to 200+ participants daily, including managing sign-ups for showers and laundry; referrals, hygiene products, clothing and food
• Ensure a safe and welcoming environment; greet guests, address requests, de-escalate situations, and support staff
• Receive, store, and distribute in-kind donations; distribute resources to participants
• Assist with outreach to develop new resources as directed
• Lead, train and monitor volunteers and interns; assign projects
• Assist with Day Center tracking and data entry as needed
• Assist with meal distribution
• Other duties to support the mission
