Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a part-time Customer Services Specialist (20/24 hr., non-exempt) at the Franklinton Branch. This role focuses on delivering friendly service, handling reference requests, guiding patrons to resources, and supporting circulation tasks.

You will assist with library cards, process transactions, help users with technology, and maintain a neat, welcoming branch environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to use library technology and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with reference questions in person, by phone, or online.
• Process library materials, memberships, and payments accurately.
• Assist with library technology and direct patrons to resources.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming branch environment and support staff.
• Open/close procedures and participate in daily task scheduling.
• Support other duties as assigned by location staff.
