Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking a diligent and reliable Custodian to join our team in Honolulu. The role is part-time with an hourly pay rate of $17.50 and a 19.5-hour work week, schedule from Sunday to Thursday evenings.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, restrooms, and surfaces, using buffers and carpet equipment, stocking supplies, and reporting maintenance needs. Candidates should be able to lift 25–50 lbs and follow instructions in English.

Qualifications

• Prescreen test required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen; proof of citizenship required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow English instructions.
• Previous janitorial/ housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and stand for long periods.

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Dust and clean surfaces, including windows and mirrors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms.
• Utilize buffers, scrubbers and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Stock restroom supplies and other areas.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained and stored.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking a diligent and reliable Custodian to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of our facilities.

-Location: Oahu, HI (Downtown Oahu)

-Employment Job Type: Part-time

-Hourly pay rate: $17.50

-Number of Hours: 19.50-hour work week.

-Schedule: Sunday to Thursday 4pm-9pm or 4:30pm-9:30pm.

-Key Responsibilities:

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors

Dust and clean surfaces, including windows and mirrors

Clean and sanitize restrooms

Utilizing a buffer or scrubber, along with carpet cleaning equipment.

Stock supplies in restrooms and other designated areas

Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste

Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored

Report any maintenance or repair needs to management

Perform other assigned duties by your supervisor.

-Skills and Qualifications:

Must successfully pass prescreen check.

Must be a U.S. citizen (proof of citizenship required).

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Must be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions in English.

Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping work preferred

Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Must be capable of performing manual labor, including cleaning common areas, pressing, pushing, and pulling, and frequently lifting and carrying 25–50 lbs.

Ability to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, navigate stairs, and use a ladder, with the ability to stand throughout shifts.

Willingness to learn and participate in training for the position.

Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
