Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking a diligent Custodian to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. The position is part-time with an evening schedule and requires ability to perform cleaning tasks to maintain a safe, orderly facility.

The ideal candidate will have basic reading/writing in English, prefer a high school diploma, and be capable of operating cleaning equipment. This role offers competitive pay and benefits, including health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass prescreen check.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Previous janitorial/housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Capable of manual labor including lifting 25–50 lbs.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
• Dust and clean surfaces, including windows and mirrors
• Clean and sanitize restrooms
• Stock supplies in restrooms and other designated areas
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste
• Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained and stored
• Report maintenance or repair needs to management
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job description

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking a diligent and reliable Custodian to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of our facilities.

-Location: Oahu, HI (Downtown Oahu)

-Employment Job Type: Part-time

-Schedule:Sunday 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Monday to Thursday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

-Hourly pay rate: $17.27

-Number of Hours: 15.5 hour work week.

-Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
• Dust and clean surfaces, including windows and mirrors
• Clean and sanitize restrooms
• Stock supplies in restrooms and other designated areas
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to management
• Perform other assigned duties by your supervisor.

-Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping work preferred
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Must be capable of performing manual labor, including cleaning common areas, pressing, pushing, and pulling, and frequently lifting and carrying 25–50 lbs.
• Ability to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, navigate stairs, and use a ladder, with the ability to stand throughout shifts.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training for the position.
• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
