Hawaiian Building Maintenance in Honolulu is seeking a dedicated Custodian for a part-time role. The position requires cleaning of indoor and outdoor spaces, operating cleaning and safety equipment, and adhering to safety protocols while coordinating with management and the property team.

Must pass prescreen, read and follow English instructions, and have strong communication skills. Prior janitorial experience is preferred but training is available.

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, or related experience is preferred, but training is available.
• Strong public relations and communication skills are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Must be capable of performing manual labor, including cleaning common areas, pressing, pushing, and pulling, and frequently lifting and carrying 25-50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
• Ability to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, navigate stairs, and use a ladder, with the ability to stand throughout shifts.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training for the position.
• Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Experience in forklift operation is a plus.

• Adapt to various work conditions, including sub-zero freezers.
• Monitor and maintain areas by sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and operating equipment such as floor scrubbers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and power washers.
• Restock supplies such as soap and paper products.
• Safely use ladders to access higher surfaces.
• Ensure the cleanliness of common areas within the building.
• Properly dispose of trash in designated areas.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Adhere to safety procedures and protocols.
• Communicate effectively in English with team members and the property manager.
• Report safety concerns or building issues to management.
• Report maintenance issues when necessary.

-Employment Job Type: Part-time

-Position: Custodian

-Schedule: Friday 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM and Sunday 5:30 PM - 2:30 AM.

-Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00

-Key Responsibilities:

Ensurecommon areas, surfaces (counter tops, tables, walls), restrooms are clean.
