Job summary

The Salvation Army Belleville Corps is seeking a reliable Custodian to maintain the Corps building and grounds. This is a part-time role offering 25 hours per week with pay up to $16.00 per hour.

The position is based at 20 Glory Place, Belleville, Illinois. A High School Diploma or GED with one year of related experience is required, along with a valid Class E driver’s license and an MVR check. The work includes indoor housekeeping and exterior grounds maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with one year related work experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend cleaning instructions and MSDS.
• Must pass The Salvation Army MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties including dusting, window washing, cleaning restrooms, trash removal, vacuuming and floor care.
• Assist with preventive maintenance of furnaces (changing filters) and minor maintenance.
• Change burned out light bulbs in interior and exterior fixtures.
• Maintain Corps grounds including yard work, trash removal, snow removal, lawn mowing and outside repairs.
• Assist with small repairs and note major repairs needed.
• Maintain janitorial room and inventory of cleaning supplies and custodial equipment.
