The Salvation Army Belleville Corps in Belleville, Illinois is seeking a part-time Custodian to maintain the Corps building and grounds. This role is 25 hours per week with a starting pay up to $16.00 per hour.

The position involves housekeeping, basic maintenance, grounds care, and inventory of cleaning supplies. A high school diploma or GED with one year of related work experience is required, along with a valid Class E driver's license and MVR check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with one year of related work experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend a job description, cleaning instructions and MSDS.
• Basic communication skills to facilitate interactions with visitors and coworkers.
• Must have a valid Class E driver's license and pass The Salvation Army MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties: dusting, window washing, restrooms, trash, vacuuming, carpets, floors.
• Assist with preventive maintenance of furnaces (filters) and minor repairs.
• Change burned out light bulbs in overhead, exterior, and exit fixtures.
• Maintain Corps grounds: yard work, trash removal, snow removal, mowing, outside repairs.
• Assist with small repairs and note major repairs needed.
• Maintain janitorial room housekeeping and inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
