Job summary

The Salvation Army in Mattoon, IL is seeking a part-time custodian/groundskeeper to maintain facilities and support custodial duties under the Corps Officer. This role requires a High School diploma or GED and a valid driver's license, with some light maintenance tasks performed as needed.

The position is 25 hours per week with a pay range of $16.00–$17.00 per hour, depending on experience, and includes a benefits package described by the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Ability to comprehend and comply with cleaning instructions and MSDS.
• Basic communication skills to interact with staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties: dusting, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, mopping, waxing floors, and related tasks.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain and clean Corps grounds, inventory cleaning supplies, and prepare rooms for programs.
• Move furniture and supplies, pick up deliveries, and assist with vehicle maintenance as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality and foster a positive work environment.
