Job summary

Cape Cod Community College is seeking a part-time Clinical Technical Dental Assistant to maintain, disinfect, and sterilize the dental hygiene clinic and related labs. The role includes inventory control and supply ordering, with 18 hours per week across academic year sessions.

Responsibilities include autoclave maintenance, equipment upkeep, and support for dental management software. Requires Massachusetts-licensed experience and strong infection control and communication skills.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience working in a dental office in the sterilization area.
• Excellent infection prevention knowledge and skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of inventory systems.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with experience working as part of a team.
• Works well independently.

Responsibilities

• Disinfect clinic and laboratory surfaces.
• Perform weekly / monthly / quarterly maintenance of automatic processors.
• Flush all eye-wash stations weekly; monitor documentation of maintenance / flushing.
• Process and sterilize student instruments.
• Perform daily / weekly maintenance of autoclaves; monitor documentation of autoclave cleaning and spore testing.
• Maintain deionization unit / change filters.
• Inventory / restock supplies.
• Purge water lines once per semester.
• Inspect dental units weekly for problems or repairs; perform simple repairs of units; maintain schedule of equipment maintenance and repair.
• Monitor labeling in clinic.
• Maintain MSDS binders.
• Monitor documentation of O2 tank maintenance.
• Provide technical support for dental management software.
• Other duties as assigned.
