Job summary

Canyon Creek Services is seeking part-time shelter staff to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The role includes answering calls, completing intakes, providing crisis support, and helping with daily shelter operations.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer literacy and documentation management.
• Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls from clients and staff.
• Complete intakes for new shelter residents during shift.
• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
• Monitor security systems and conduct regular safety checks.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records.
• Assist with daily shelter operations and resident support.
• Help lead or support activities for residents and their children.
• Maintain shelter cleanliness and proper condition, including room turnover and cleaning.
• Perform light maintenance and upkeep of shelter grounds, including yard work and snow removal.
