Job summary

Pillars, Inc. is seeking a full-time Crisis Housing Advocate to cover evening shifts at the Adult Shelter. You will be the first point of contact for clients and volunteers, ensure safety, and support intake, eligibility, and daily operations.

The role supports a continuum of care across shelter sites and coordinates with staff to promote client independence. Qualified applicants will understand barriers related to homelessness, have empathy for survivors of domestic violence, and be comfortable

Qualifications

• Understanding barriers faced by people experiencing homelessness.
• Experience working with survivors of domestic violence.
• Experience working with people with mental health challenges and/or addictions.
• Knowledge of community resources for low income or homeless individuals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for clients, volunteers, and visitors.
• Complete intake processes, assess eligibility, conduct tours, explain rules and Pillars programs.
• Enter client data into HMIS and maintain accurate logs.
