Pillars Inc. in Appleton, WI is seeking a Crisis Housing Advocate to join our part-time team, working 2-3 shifts per week on the Second Shift (3pm–11pm) with rotating weekends.

The role focuses on safety, intake assistance, and connection to Pillars programs. You will be the first point of contact for clients and volunteers, enter data into HMIS, collaborate with staff and community partners, and help maintain a secure, supportive shelter environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience preferred in homelessness or related fields.
• Experience with survivors of domestic violence preferred.
• Experience working with clients facing mental health or addiction challenges.
• Knowledge of community resources for low income or homeless individuals and families.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the point of contact for clients, volunteers, and visitors.
• Complete client intake and exit processes; assess eligibility and conduct tours.
• Enter client data into HMIS and maintain accurate logs.
• Assist with daily activities and distribute medications; provide resources for self-sufficiency.
• Collaborate with staff and community partners to support a continuum of care.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff and volunteers.
• Maintain building safety and enforce policies; promote a secure environment.
• Receive, organize, and store donations; prepare and serve meals as needed.
• Handle administrative tasks including background checks and sign-in books.
• Attend meetings and collaborate with partner agencies.
